'Melong' Kelly to retire eventually? "I don't want to play anywhere other than the Dodgers"

Joe Kelly, 36, is reportedly considering retirement.

Kelly became famous in 2020 when he made a sarcastic look at the Houston Astros, who caused a controversy over "stealing signs." At the time, he made a "Meron" look at Carlos Correa after striking out him.

He also readily gave Shohei Ohtani his uniform number. In response, Ohtani presented a Porsche to Kelly's wife.메이저놀이터

Since then, however, Kelly has suffered several injuries. A persistent shoulder issue may be the reason his name has not gained popularity in the FA market.

As a result, rumors of his retirement are circulating.

Kelly made remarks in a recent interview with Dodgers Nation suggesting his retirement. He said that if he is offered a contract renewal, only one team would consider returning.

When asked if he would like to stay with the Dodgers, Kelly added, "Of course. I don't want to play anywhere else. When I get healthy, it will be similar to Clayton Kershaw's deal. There is only one place for me to come back."

Kelly, however, said, "I don't know what will happen if my body doesn't heal as well as I want. So we'll see."

Kelly played only 35 games in 2024 due to a shoulder issue. He was placed on the 60-day injured list due to a right shoulder injury in May and missed 61 games before returning midseason.

He also could not play in 16 more games in the second half due to shoulder inflammation. He injured his shoulder again before the NLDS, which prevented him from playing in the postseason completely.

Kelly, who spent 13 years with the St. Louis Cardinals, Boston Red Sox, Dodgers and Chicago White Sox, went 839 innings with a 3.98 ERA.
